Here at Jalopnik, we like making lists of the best tracks in America, with the usual suspects such as Road America, Walking Glen and Sebring. Today I’m taking you on a motoring journey North of border to have a look at the ten best race tracks of the great white Canada.
10 - Atlantic Motorsporst Park, Nova Scotia
9- Gimli Motorsports Park, Manitoba
8 - Mission Raceway Park, British-Columbia
7 -Westwood Motorsports Park, British-Columbia
6 - Edmonton city centre airport, Alberta
5 - Vancouver Concord Pacific place, British-Columbia
4 - Toronto Exhibition place, Ontario
3 -Shannonville Motorsport Park, Ontario
2 -Castrol Raceway, Alberta
1 -Canadian Tire Motorsport park (formerly Mosport) Ontario

No love for Circuit Gilles Villeneuve? I’m a huge fan of it. I’m glad to see Mosport where it belongs, though.

Walking Glen?

I’ve gone on four of these tracks (went off track on one...) and I’m appalled to not see Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal - SERIOUSLY!? How is it not on the list.

I drove up to Mosport a couple weeks ago for shits and giggles. Next year I’d like to drive on it.

Quebec can do its own list if it wants.

Gilles Villeneuve?

It’s a list of Canadian tracks, not Quebecois tracks.

No Calabogie Motorsports Park? Everyone I have talked to who has been there loved it.
The only other one I’m familiar with is Mosport

Calabogie ranked 11th

Didn’t know you, a home schooled Newfie speaks for all of canada.

funny since it’s called the candian GP.
funny how my passport also states i’m Canadian and not Quebecois.
expected more from oppo members, this is not the FP btw.

Um, hasn’t Westwood been gone for a couple decades?

Oppo isn’t Jalopnik

I wasn’t too disappointed in the omission of Circuit Gilles Villeneuve mainly because I’m familiar with the track and it’s pretty much implied that this track is awesome. It was nice to see other tracks in Canada that I really didn’t know about.
Despite the Quebec/Canada differences, Quebec is still part of Canada and a lot of the (stereotypical) stuff we’re known for is strongly Quebecois anyway.
However, aren’t the Toronto, Vancouver, and Edmonton circuits temporary circuits?

CGV is also temporary, btw, it’s a biking/rollerblading path the rest of the time

Sorry about that, but all my work is Front Page ready.

That bothers me on a personal level

I knew that, unfortunately. It's too bad that it's not a circuit that's available for public trackdays and such, but I guess that's what the Trois-Rivieres and Mont Tremblant circuits would be used for (and any others that may be nearby).
![]() 12/03/2015 at 14:34 |

Trois-Rivieres is also temporary, it’s a street circuit.
They have Sanair

And how many of those still exist? Six?
P.S. No love for (also closed) Race City?

Sometimes when I click on something on the front page, I totally miss the fact that I’m getting redirected to another sub-blog.
I don’t write many posts, but when I do, I also try to keep up the quality so that they’re “share worthy”.

A racing buddy of mine is from Halifax and told me about Atlantic, I’d never seen a map of the place though. I’m also ashamed to admit that I didn’t know about most of these, because ‘Merica.

Front page ready? This list is bullshit, like all the other stuff you write. Tracks that don’t exist anymore? No track in Quebec just because? No explanation what so ever? Yeah, how serious, how journalistic. You really spend too much time on your mother’s computer being a troll.

Front page ready or not, we’re a separate entity and we need to maintain that distinction. Please refrain from using wording like this.

He seems to start off many of these posts with “here at Jalopnik” I’m beginning to wonder if this was the same guy who claimed to be a Jalopnik writer in an attempt to get a manufacturer to send a car to review.

Last time I checked (and I haven’t needed to check since 1995), Quebec was Canadian.
